The Pathfinder Sailing app connects to your boat’s instruments via your boat’s wifi to populate a number of app screens. These screens provide real-time analysis to assist you in getting better starts, maximizing your speed and point, and navigating around the course as efficiently as possible.

Race Logging
The Pathfinder Sailing app provides logging functionality so your boat’s sailing data can be stored in the Cloud and used to provide Race Replay.
For Basic plan users, the boats GPS location information, SOG (speed over ground) and COG (course over ground) data are collected by the phone app and then synced to the Pathfinder web app running in the Cloud.
For Plus plan users, the boat’s GPS location information and all performance data are collected by the phone app and then synced to the Pathfinder web app.
Race Replay
The Pathfinder Race Replay provides a replay of your boat’s race with your recorded performance metrics. All boats in your fleet using the Pathfinder App will also appear in your race replay, so you can compare course strategy and performance. Races are stored in your profile in the Cloud and can easily be shared.
For Basic plan users, the boat’s GPS location information, SOG (speed over ground) and COG (course over ground) data are shown over a geolocation map such as Google Maps.
For Plus subscription users, the boat’s GPS location information and performance data, including dozens of metrics, are shown over the map.
To view your saved races, just log into the Pathfinder website > My Pathfinder > Race Replay from any browser.

Performance Race Screens
Get Better Starts
The Timer screen makes it easy to stay on top of your starting time, giving you the options of rolling starts and turning on the audible countdown timer so you can keep your eyes out of the boat.
The Start screen take the guesswork out of your starts. Burn time information makes it easier to hit the line at speed.

Get Up to Speed Faster
After starting, the app switches to the Speed screen, providing information about how the boat is performing against a standard polar or a customized polar. This ensures the boat is sailing at optimum speed and point for the conditions.

Sail the Course More Quickly
The ‘Navigate’ screen shows your port and starboard tack time splits to the next mark, opposite COG (course over ground), and current information. The opposite COG provides a opposite tack compass course adjusted for current, minimizing the chances of over-standing a windward or leeward mark.

Plan the Next Leg
This screen is used by the tactician to determine the course and true wind angle on the next leg of the race. This information is used to select the correct sail on a tight wind angle.
